30% of Shropshire's 717 roofing applications in the last 12 months were single-storey extension, then new dwelling or self-build (121).

263 in the 90 days to 21 Oct 2026, and 717 in the 12 months to the same date: planning applications filed with Shropshire Council that match our rules for roofing contractors at high or medium confidence. Refused and withdrawn applications are not counted, and nothing is estimated.
In the last 12 months: single-storey extension (213), new dwelling or self-build (121), extension (119) and two-storey or first-floor extension (95). Re-roofs are actionable immediately; loft and extension roofs land 0–5 months after consent.
By postcode district over the last 12 months: SY3 (73), SY4 (63), SY5 (48), SY2 (41) and SY11 (38). Your list can cover the whole council, a few districts, or a radius around your yard.
Shropshire Council decided 91.7% of its applications within the statutory time limit in 2025, and granted 92.3% of its "other" decisions, the government category that holds householder applications (1,162 of 1,259, MHCLG PS2 figures). The target for a householder application is eight weeks, so a letter sent the week it is filed lands well before the decision.
