We have a large garden In a conservation area containing many Ash trees with significant levels of dye back. We have many that need attention and stabilising but our current priority is a row that border our land & that of our neighbours (image1-6 and on plan) but not along frontage. There are also a couple of even larger Ash trees that are sadly already look dead & are in close proximity to the electric cables, (supplying 4 houses) stretching across our plot. (Image 7-8and on plan)They are likely to break the cables if they fall. Our tree surgeon has said he doesn?t know how they are still standing. We would like to reduce these in size asap. We have been in touch with uk power networks who have said they will switch the cables off whilst the trees are cut. Having surveyed our land our tree surgeon has advised us that all 8 Ash trees are dead damaged or diseased. His expert advice is that they need to be reduced in size and stabilised as soon as possible as they could potentially fall at anytime. We are looking to preserve the trees (and the ivy that cover them) not fell them. We are on chalk with little top soil so their roots are very shallow. We have already lost two substantial Ash trees along the boundary and many other Ash trees on other parts of our land have also fallen in recent storms. We are keen to try & keep those left from a similar fate as well as avoiding any further damage to other plants/trees/structures & ourselves! In addition to this potential danger we would like to have them reduced in size asap as we can see with this warmer weather the nesting season may come early! We have a ?wild?plot which is home to a vast array of birds so would really appreciate your help in speeding things along in order to minimise the disruption to their activity. Our tree surgeon is very experienced and happy to carefully undertake the work. He has seen good results by reducing Ash trees in size to help them manage the die back. As he inspects and works...
