Our planning application was validated two weeks ago and we have the application number. But it still doesn't appear on the council's planning portal.
We want to notify neighbours so they can comment if they want to, but without the online listing there's no easy way to share the plans.
Is there a standard delay between validation and publication? Should we chase the council, or is this just bureaucracy moving slowly?
Standard delay is 5-10 working days after validation. If it's been two weeks, chase them. Sometimes it's a technical glitch with the back-end system that publishes to the portal.
Also, your neighbours can comment by writing to the council directly — they don't need the online portal. Just give them the application number and the council's planning email address.
Chased them today. Apparently their IT system was down for maintenance. Should be live tomorrow.
